Baggy denim is back in every rotation, but most people get the proportions wrong. Too wide and you disappear; too long and the hem shreds in a week. Here is how to get it right.
Three measurements that matter
- Rise: mid to high rise keeps the waist where it should be when the leg is wide.
- Leg opening: 20–23 cm reads baggy without swallowing your shoes.
- Length: one clean break or a light stack on the shoe — never a puddle.
Balance the volume
Wide denim pairs best with either a fitted top or a deliberately oversized one — the mistake is the in-between. A boxy graphic tee tucked at the front, or a heavy hoodie that ends at the hip, both work.
Wash matters
Dark and black washes read sharper and dress up easier. Light vintage washes lean casual and pair best with muted tops.
