The Kanye-era silhouette changed streetwear for good: oversized up top, heavy fabrics, muted earth tones and layers that look thrown on but are anything but. The good news — you do not need a stylist budget to build it.
The formula
- Base: a boxy graphic tee or heavyweight hoodie in black, bone or washed brown.
- Proportion: oversized on top, straight or baggy below — never slim on both.
- Palette: two muted tones maximum, then one loud graphic.
- Footwear: chunky and understated beats slim and loud.
Layering is the whole trick
The look lives in the layers. A long tee under a shorter hoodie, a hoodie under an open jacket — each layer should peek out by a few centimetres. Keep fabrics heavy so the layers hold their shape instead of clinging.
What to avoid
Do not stack three graphics. Do not mix five colors. The era reads as restrained confidence: one statement piece, everything else quiet and well-fitted in the shoulders and length.
